Why do I want to work with children? Children have always been a part of my life. I want to work with children because of their unpredictability. I am motivated by their natural curiosity and questions. I believe in creating an environment where children can reach their fullest potential through play and learning. What is the best part of working at Saplings? The best part of working at Saplings is the team. They are respectful, inclusive and believe in working in partnership with families to support their children. The Team supports the wellbeing of children, families and each other.

Austin (he/him) is a licensed service dog trainer with PADS, where he has worked since June 2023, focusing on advanced training and care for dogs aged 12 months and up. He recently joined the Saplings team and often brings service dogs in training along as part of their socialization and development. Austin is always happy to share his knowledge—feel free to reach out with any questions about service dogs or the training process.

Mikayla has lived on the North Shore most of her life and loves hiking and exploring the outdoors. She is bubbly, energetic, and caring, and brings that energy into her work with children. Mikayla enjoys creating a fun and welcoming environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to play and learn about the natural world.
