Our after-school programs provide children with hands-on opportunities to explore the natural world while developing creativity, physical skills, and mental well-being. Educators support problem-solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through nature-based play and collaborative experiences.

Five days a week - $472 

Four days a week - $446

Three days a week - $330

Keane Vallis

Forest Educator

Originally from Nova Scotia, Keane has a deep love for the outdoors and the coast. With experience in childcare and volunteer work, they bring creativity and a passion for art to their role on the After School Care team.

Ashley Perron

Forest Educator

Ashley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Carleton University and is currently completing courses at the University of British Columbia in preparation for the Education program.

She is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys a range of seasonal sports, including skiing, golf, and tennis. Ashley is passionate about early childhood education and has several years of experience working with children in outdoor learning environments. She believes that risky play is an essential part of development, helping children build confidence and learn to trust themselves, and values being able to combine her love of the outdoors with her work with children.

Evan Hancock

ECEA / Forest Educator

Evan has worked with children for over 7 years and joined Saplings in January 2025. With an ECEA certification and a love for the outdoors, they are excited to be part of a team that values nature-based learning.

FAQs

Is this program eligible for subsidy?
No, this is an unlicensed program. As such, it is not eligible for subsidy.

Will snacks be provided? 
No. Parents are encouraged to pack their children an extra snack to eat after school. 

Is there an inside facility?
No, this program is run completely outside. Children have access to the public washrooms in the parks.

My child attends a different school in the area, can they attend?
Yes, however you will be responsible for dropping off your child at the location, as we do not offer a pick up service at this time. 

Can I add or change dates once I’ve registered?

Yes, we are able to accommodate date changes; however, please note that these changes can take up to two weeks to process. Mid-month registrations also require up to two weeks to finalize.
