Parisa is an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) passionate about supporting children in nature-based environments. Originally from Iran, she grew up exploring the outdoors and observing wildlife—an experience that shaped her belief in the power of play and exploration to foster creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. At Saplings, she is excited to nurture children’s growth through meaningful outdoor experiences and help them build a lasting connection with the natural world.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Stef is an enthusiastic educator who believes the best classroom has no walls. With a passion for outdoor nature learning, she inspires children to explore, discover, and connect with the world around them together with Saplings Outdoor Programs. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education at West Visayas State University and has over 7 years of experience with young learners. She is currently taking up her Master’s Degree in Leadership, K-12 Education stream at Trinity Western University. Stef hopes to elevate learning for children beyond textbooks with her warmth and enthusiasm through discovering our natural environment as well as fostering children’s curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for nature. 

With over a decade of experience, Mahi is an educator passionate about play-based and inclusive learning. She holds a bachelor’s degree from a university in Iran and a master’s degree in Leadership in Education (K–12) from Trinity Western University. A certified Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) with additional training in autism, neurodiversity, and special education, she brings creativity, compassion, and dedication to supporting every child’s unique potential in the outdoor classroom.

Phillip grew up on Vancouver’s North Shore, surrounded by mountains, ocean, and a strong sense of community. These early experiences shaped his belief that learning happens best when children feel safe, supported, and valued.

He spent 11 years ski racing, developing focus, perseverance, and an appreciation for the power of encouragement. Since then, Phillip has worked with children in a wide range of settings, including teaching surfing and English with Surfing the Nations, leading youth programs at Keats Camps, and supporting students at Saplings Nature School. He is passionate about helping children build confidence and feel inspired to learn.
