Our after-school programs provide children with hands-on opportunities to explore the natural world while developing creativity, physical skills, and mental well-being. Educators support problem-solving, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth through nature-based play and collaborative experiences.

Shabnam Golafshan
Early Childhood Educator / Program Lead
Shabnam was born in Iran and is a passionate educator with 17 years of teaching experience, primarily as a first-grade teacher in a bilingual school. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a Canadian university and an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) certification. Throughout her career, she has created nurturing and inclusive classroom environments that support children’s early development and bilingual learning. Shabnam’s life has always been closely connected to children; she has grown with them, learned from them, and dedicated herself to their growth and success. She believes that education should be rooted in love, patience, and creativity.
Stephanie Veltheer
Outdoor Educator
Steph is a third-year Arts student and outdoor educator who has been working in childcare for around three and a half years, both in classroom settings and out in the forest. Born and raised in Greater Vancouver, she considers it one of the most wonderful places in the world. She hopes to play even a small role in helping the Saplings she teaches fall in love with the natural world around them. In her spare time, Steph enjoys hiking, river swimming, cooking, baking, going on adventures, and watching plenty of British television.
FAQs
Is this program eligible for subsidy?
No, this is an unlicensed program. As such, it is not eligible for subsidy.
Is there an inside facility?
No, this program is run completely outside. Children have access to the school bathrooms.
Will snacks be provided?
No. Parents are encouraged to pack their children an extra snack to eat after school.
My child attends a different school in the area, can they attend?
Yes, however you will be responsible for dropping off your child at the location, as we do not offer a pick up service at this time.
Can I add or change dates once I’ve registered?
This program currently only operates on Mondays. Once enrolled for the term, date changes or refunds are not permitted. Mid-month registrations also require up to two weeks to finalize.
