Saplings & St. John's School Summer Camp

Saplings Outdoor Program is pleased to be collaborating with St. John’s School for the second year in a row to provide two weeks of outdoor summer camp programming for SJS students.

Camps will run during the weeks of June 15 and June 22, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am–3:00pm. This camp is open to St. John’s School children only, and all enrolment will be managed directly through the school.

Throughout the program, children will spend their days exploring nearby parks, beaches, and natural spaces in the local community, including potential visits to Kitsilano Beach and surrounding green spaces. Our educators will support children in building confidence, curiosity, and connection through outdoor play and place-based learning.

Children can expect a balance of active, creative, and reflective outdoor experiences, including:

  • Nature walks and local exploration

  • Beach and forest play

  • Group games and cooperative challenges

  • Nature art and loose parts play

  • Storytelling, songs, and imaginative play

  • Observation of plants, animals, weather, and seasonal changes

  • Time for child-led play, social connection, and rest

Our approach is rooted in outdoor learning, relationship-based care, and respect for children’s curiosity. Educators will support children to take appropriate risks, collaborate with others, notice the world around them, and engage meaningfully with the natural spaces they visit.
