Saplings Outdoor Program has a nature-based program located in Squamish for children ages 3-5. The program is designed to introduce children to the natural world, teach them to find meaningful ways to connect to each other, and explore the living world around them through play and exploration. We will develop strength, coordination, and resilience while climbing over rocks and logs, splashing in the river, and looking closely for forest fairies, squirrels, and other creatures. We can't wait to begin fostering a sense of wonder and a life-long connection to the natural world with your curious and capable children.
Our Squamish program is a 3-hour morning program that runs from Monday to Friday, September 2017 to June 2018. Full and part-time options are available.
Please email about cost of program, duscounts are offered for mulit-day registraiton.

I have worked with children since I graduated university and went right back to the preschool I went to as a child and started working for them. I have worked in various early childhood settings including toddler care, full day care, and preschool. I'm passionate about being outside and love our west coast liquid sunshine!
I believe that unstructured outdoor play is the basis for the most important learning little people do. Social development, critical and divergent thinking, as well as internal motivation all come naturally from playing and solving problems outside.
I was born and raised on the West Coast, growing up camping and sailing on Vancouver Island. I spent four years on the East Coast doing my BA in Psychology at Acadia University. That time made me really appreciate the rugged beauty of this place we call home. We are so lucky to have mountains and an ocean in our big backyard.
